Antique Japanese Kutani Large Bowl Featuring 4 Warriors. Made in Kaga. 1870s
The central man who appears to be in charge wears long beard and fu Manchu; he is the only one at the table not a sword. The bowl itself is bone white. The scenes and patterns are of an orange, blue and gray palette. Typical of Kutani bowls, leafy vines, swirls and stars encircle the interior rim of the bowl forming a cartouche to further accentuate the warrior scene. 6 Japanese marks on the bottom indicate that the bowl is "Kutani Made" and created in Kaga.
